Welcome!

I am Gabi, aka La Reina Negra which translates to the Black Queen. I’m a twentysomething-year-old writer, content creator, and overall beauty enthusiast whose wig collection gets bigger and bigger each day. I graduated from Harvard University and majored in African American Studies with a minor in Women’s Studies and Spanish. It’s a large reason why I love learning new things about Black history from all over the diaspora. 

Currently, I’m an Editorial Assistant at Allure where I explore the ins and outs of the beauty industry and dive deep into ingredients, trends, and products.  When I’m not writing, I’m probably at beauty supply store looking for a new colorful wig, binge watching TV or YouTube videos, or searching for a cooking or baking recipe to try.
